How to appeal a Claude ban
Short answer: Sign in to claude.ai with the banned account. On the restricted-account page (claude.ai/restricted), click Submit an appeal and fill in the form for Anthropic’s Safeguards team. You must be signed in to see it.
Steps
- Open claude.ai and sign in with the banned account’s email.
- On the restricted-account page, find “Submit an appeal”.
- Fill in your account email, your country, what you use Claude for, and why you think the decision is wrong.
- Submit and wait for an email. Don’t submit duplicates or open a new account in the meantime.
Writing a good appeal
- Keep it short and factual.
- Confirm you’re in a supported region, the account is yours alone, and your use is compliant.
- Don’t make anything up. False statements sink an appeal.

Users have reported this on GitHub. Make sure you’re signed in, then open claude.ai/restricted again. If it still fails, contact support through the Claude Help Center.
Exporting your data
Free, Pro and Max users can still sign in after a ban to export or delete their data. The options are on the same page as the appeal form.
